RSS – Real Simple Syndication. It’s a way for me to publish my blog entries (but it could be anything really) that can be read by another site for inclusion into their pages. One example might be a news site that publishes an RSS feed so that you can include the latest headlines in a small box on the side of your main page.
In this instance, MovableType (my blogging software) was using the MTEntryExcerpt tag which meant that you only got about 20 words of the entry when using RSS. I’ve now updated it to use MTEntryBody and MTEntryMore which should mean you can view the whole entry within an RSS browser.
Let me know if this is better, worse, or really doesn’t matter to you as you don’t use the RSS feed.
One comment on “The RSS feed – the what?”
Aha. Much better.
